In my last visit to Manila, I chanced upon a famous movie star in the Philippines and her name is Bea Alonzo. I love her acting and I watched her soaps and movies as well. In the airport when I was about to go home with my delegates, Bea Alonzo was there and she was sitted next to me in the boarding area at the airport. I requested a pose with her and here it is.

ON DEPARTING

My godfather Regional Director, the regional head of my office reached the age of 65 and he is on mandatory retirement age however, his directorship was extended by the Department Secretary until May 2010. I can say that his stint as Regional Director brought changes to the office that were sometimes unpopular to many subordinates and hence he received many criticisms. Good that my officemates are not violent otherwise his fate would have been the same with few Regional Directors of other regions who are petitioned to be out of the region by their subordinates. I am sad for his retirement because he is a good friend of mine before he became one of the sponsors of my wedding with my ex husband. But, time flies so fast and his age goes along, too. Like Oprah, he will be departing from office in the year 2010.  This is reality, things and people come and go. So, it is important to leave a legacy to be treasured and to be remembered as a model of good example.

I am having a problem with my tummy because no matter how I fast or no matter how I reduce my food intake, I still have bulges in my tummy.  I assume they are fat deposits in my tummy that are stubborn to get away due to less physical exercises. The recent boxing bout of Manny Pacquaio and Miguel Cotto has a blockbuster hit in terms of pay per views. It has reached 2 million dollars and is expected to grow more. Wow, the two boxers surely will share a lot on this. I am just sad that amid Pacquaio's feat he is rumored to have an affair with a movie actress Krista Ranillo, daughter of Mat Ranillo. I hope this is not true, or if it is, I hope that Pacquaio will value his family with Jinky Pacquaio. I feel sad for broken marriages.

ASH CHRISTMAS

Fire broke out in Mandaluyong city this afternoon that burned down in almost 4 hours almost a thousand houses and rendered 5,000 thousand families homeless. If you can imagine Mandaluyong, most houses are in shanties and the firemen found it difficult to suppress the fire as they could not get their firetrucks inside the burning area due to narrow roads. The victims will surely have ash christmas to come. I really pity them. It is not divulged yet what caused the fire.    

FORT WALTON BEACH HOTELS

I envy a friend who always makes it a point to bring her family over to Florida every year. Her children like so much to stay in the fort walton beach hotels as it has much to offer in terms of comfort and enjoyment. I have this wish to bring my childen over too, to this place. Looking at the net about the facility and equipment of these hotels, I can say that this is such a good place to stay on when my wish finally come true.  

HOPE

There is indeed no permanency in this world. I used to hear my father tell a story about a gambler who was winning in a gambling spree. Instead of laughing and happy, the gambler was crying and sad because he anticipated that the next time would be time for losing. I usually laugh at this story but it has a moral lesson that nothing is permanent. This was true with UFC fighter who was on the verge of losing his house but was saved when he won in the fight. There is always light in the offing after each darkness.

ANOTHER FIRST EXPERIENCE

I am back! Whew, I had been away for a long time. I experienced another first in this recent travel. It was first time for me to experience a flight cancellation. We were already boarded the plane when the cancellation of the flight was announced. We deplaned, and we were accomodated in a hotel for free, also the food and the shuttle to and fro the hotel and the airport were also free. We stayed in a plosh hotel in the busy street of Mabini, the Executive Plaza Hotel. Except for the flight cancellation, the trip was so enjoying. I will be posting here the pictures in the places we have been to. 

STORM AGAIN

At long last my weeklong official travel is over. Tomorrow, I will be flying back home. Problem is a storm "Santi" with storm signal no. 3 is hoisted and if this does not get through till tomorrow I will be stranded along with my company of 33 persons. I pray that the storm will be kind to us and spare Manila again of its disaster. I miss my bed and my lappy. Right now, I am in an internet cafe.

ORLANDO VACATIONS

My sons envy my friend's children because every year they can't do it without going on orlando vacations with her kids. It will be a dream come true to my children if they get to have an Orlando vacation in the future. They keep on prodding me to go with my plans to work in the US so they can follow, too. I wish it was just this simple. 

BIRTHDAY ALERT FEATURE OF YAHOO

I like the new yahoo feature because I am alerted of the birthday of a friend in Los Angeles although I had no personal knowledge of her birthday. Yahoo did it for me when I connected with my friend. She will be happy to receive a card from me, albeit an ecard only. Anyway, its the thought that counts.

The other day I was shocked to know that the sister of an officemate died inside the house burned down by fire. There is another convention I am slated to attend to and that is in Bangkok, Thailand next November. I hope to travel to Thailand if the office will finance my expenses. If not, I will be having second thoughts in attending because I can not be spending personal money at this point since I am having a lot of expenditures on my house repair. I am crossing my fingers I will be allowed to attend. 

CIGARS

I have never smoked in my entire life. I have seen some people smoke cigars over movie shows, in restaurants and in many places and I do not know how they feel when they smoke but I respect their decision to smoke. As long as they don't smoke in public places and conveyances and they do not violate laws prohibiting smoking in public then it is alright with me. 

WINDOWS 7

So, there is a new computer operating system out in the market today, outdating Windows XP and Windows vista. There is now Windows 7, the first new version of Microsoft's flagship operating system since Windows XP.  I wish I could update the OS of this lappy of mine that has a Windows vista, but I am having second thoughts on updating as it would entail costs, again.
